  Many people go through their entire lives without realizing one simple truth: they constantly mix up luck and ability.   When things go well, they believe their success is all because of their own talent and hard work. They think they are invincible, that they can control everything, and that their good results will last forever.   When things go wrong, they blame everything on bad luck. They say the era is against them, the environment is too harsh, and others are too lucky.
